THE BAHRAIN ROYAL EQUESTRIAN AND ENDURANCE FEDERATION (BREEF)
The BREEF was established as per a ministerial decree issued by GOYS number (9) on the 19th March 2003. The founding authority for BREEF is HH Sh. Nasser Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, also the Head of the Royal Team, representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in the National and International events of both Equestrian and Endurance championships. TheBREEF office is headquartered in Awali.
The Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation is the sole authority for organizing all the equestrian activities, games and events, as done by its predecessor the Bahrain Equestrian Association.
All Equestrian activities in the Kingdom are sponsored by His Majesty the King and the General Organization for Youth and Sports (GOYS).

OUR GOAL
“To upgrade the Endurance and Show jumping activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
The Equestrian sport is unique in its beauty and grace. The combination of rider and horse sanctifies – concentration and power. Here, the Woman is equal to man in the execution. It provides emotion and excitement that no other sport offers. The horse has the muscles; the rider has the control. Together they are two athletes competing as a team.

JUNIOR & YOUNG RIDER WORLD ENDURANCE SPORT IN THE KINGDOM
The Endurance sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain has bloomed into a new season beginning on the 7th of October 2004, with the start of the First Endurance Season Ride. The ride benefited the new entrants as well as the top brass with two categories provided to them, the 80 KM for Adults and Junior, and the 60 KM for Qualifiers (Solely for New Entrants into the fascinating sport).
The Grand event – World Championship for Junior and Young Riders Trial Ride, with a distance of 120 KM waits to be showcased to the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the 9th of December 2004, thus revealing the superficial growth of the sport. But this is only a memento for the real event scheduled to take off in the following year, December 9th 2005 titled “The World Championship for Junior’s and Young Riders” and the arena for the event being in our own Kingdom, attracts the concentration of fans of the sport in millions from around the world.
Until now, our riders have participated in competitions in France, Italy, Ireland, Australia, UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria and other G.C.C Countries.

HISTORY OF SHOW JUMPING
Show Jumping spans history, speaks all languages and transcends age and gender with a contagious spirit. It is family oriented. It instills dedication, courage, confidence and commitment. There is no sport equal to this unity between horse and rider. This remarkable sport has gathered rapid momentum over the past decade and has become an immensely popular and highly visible spectator sport.
Highlights of Show Jumping Sport in the Kingdom
The Show Jumping sport was introduced in the Kingdom as early as 1976 by the Modern Pentathlon team of the Bahrain Defense Force. In the year 1986, the Safria Team was established for representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in both the military and civil championships.
Show Jumping has created its own arena in the Kingdom of Bahrain with the hosting of major championships such as the International Show Jumping Championship in March 2004 and with the upcoming H.M the King’s Cup Show Jumping (Bahrain World Cup Qualifier in Show Jumping) to be held from the 23-25 February 2005.
The Championship will help promote Bahrain as a centre of riding excellence regionally and worldwide. By inviting professional teams from the region and Europe, local riders will be exposed to competition at an international standard. This is in line with the BREEF’s overall objective to raise the standard of Bahraini riders to the Olympic level.

The riders from the Kingdom have participated in competitions held in Jordan, Dubai, Syria and other G.C.C countries – this list being some of the few.
