Tails Veterinary Center

Late on a Sunday afternoon I get a call from the doctor confirming that she is in a critical situation and it is best to put her to sleep. My best friend for 7 years won’t make it. The lump is too large and integrated in the surrounding muscles and tissue and it would be nearly impossible to saw up the incision. That’s when I gave the go ahead to the doctor to put her to sleep.

I will never forget how helpless and ill I felt within when I realized that she wouldn’t be coming back home. I stayed away from the vet for nearly a year since I didn’t have the heart to further discuss the matter. During that time I started to think and go over the situation in mind in order to find out what I had done wrong. So many questions were rushing through my head, how did she develop the lump at such a young age? I gave her the best of everything, food, living space and living condition.

I took the search on to the Internet and that’s when things started to become clear and started to add up. I started to realize that many people around the world have faced the same situation and they all had no clear answer on why and how their pets develop such aggressive tumors. All my research and studies kept on pointing at one suspicion, which was food and nutrition. In question was the source of food and its nutritional balance and that a poor diet is one of the few things that could attribute to sudden death in pets; either due to a cancerous tumors developing or even kidney or liver failure.

The deeper and more extensive the research the more horrific the issue started to become. To sum it all up it turns out that I was slowly poisoning my pet on popular “premium” dog food on a daily basis. The commercially manufactured “premium” dog food that I was feeding my dogs was causing them serious illness. The shock started to kick in and the answers started pouring in.
Pet food scientists have learned that it’s possible to take a mixture of inedible garbage, fortify it with artificial vitamins and minerals, preserve it so it can sit on the grocery shelf for more than a year, add dyes to make it attractive and then extrude it into whimsical shapes, making it appealing to us humans so we will purchase it.

Unfortunately what makes up most of dog and cat food today (those not qualified as “human-grade) comes from the rendering plant. To render, as defined in Webster’s Dictionary, is “to process as for industrial use; to render livestock carcasses and to extract oil from fat, blubber, etc., by melting.” Some things that go into rendering are:

  • Spoiled rotten meat from the supermarket, styrofoam wrap and all.
  • Road kill that can’t be buried on the roadside.
  • The “4-D’s” of cattle; dead, dying, diseased and disabled
  • Rancid restaurant grease
  • Euthanized pets, this is NO joke!

  1. Do not take your pets to Tails Vet Clinic in Um Al Hassam. The owners are Nadiuska Hall and Ahmed Al-Sharaf. My dog was injured. She had a small deep wound on her shoulder from a bite from another dog.

I took her to Tails Vet clinic for an emergency visit. The doctor did not clean her wound and prescribed her the wrong medications. Her small wound got extremely infected. I took her to my primary vet when they were open. they had to cut the necrotic and dead flesh from her body. She had to have 3 surgeries and now has a giant scar from the top of her neck to her leg. She is now weak and malnourished from the exhaustion of the surgeries! When bringing the situation to the owners attention Ahmed Al-Sharaf and Nadiuska Hall agreed to have a private meeting with us to discuss the situation and a settlement for the very large bill we are left with due to their lack of care. We originally agreed to keep this quiet as long as they took ownership of their negligence. During our meeting Ahmed Al-Sharaf verbally confirmed that “cleaning the wound is standard procedure” and that “the doctor should have cleaned her wound & He also stated that they were wrong and this should have never happened. Yet the doctors did not do the standard procedure for her wound and she developed a deadly infection! The medication they gave to my 9 month old dog states that it is not supposed to be used in a dog that is under a year old.

It is also is not effective against anaerobic bacteria that is deep in the skin. It is also not the most effective medication used when treating a wound like hers. There are many professional sites that believe it is not the medication supposed to be prescribed when treating the wounds she had. They continue to refuse to pay the bill for her care or return the money we originally spent even after admitting their own negligence. We went to the police to complain and they still refused to pay for their damages. Three times the police called them to pay and they refused even after admitting their own negligence. My primary vet has advised me that this situation would not be happening if she would have been treated properly at her initial visit. He believes we are only going through this situation because Tails did not clean the wound and prescribed inadequate medication that could have been even more harmful to my dog. He advised me this is not the medication he personally would have prescribed her. My vet is documenting all of this in a medical report for the police

  2. Fantastic clinic! I met Amazing Dr. David two weeks ago. I've been to two different clinics that couldn't fix my GSD but amazing Dr. David was spot on and within a few days the blood in the stool stopped and was back to normal and now two weeks on everything is perfect. Very positive experience and very thankful for the team and Drs there. Also, plenty of parking which most clinics don't have.

  3. i’ve had a very positive experience at Tails Veterinary Centre. All the staff i dealt with were courteous and professional. I had seen Dr. David and he was fantastic and was on my cat’s good side on first site. The Dr and staff were very gentle and attentive to every detail during my visit. Their prices are extremely reasonable too considering my experience with another clinic. This was my 4th visit and I must say I would go anywhere else and would miss this clinic when I leave this beautiful island.

  4. Highly recommended. Highly qualified and experienced doctors. Staff is extremely friendly and diligent. Very professional reception also. The prices were reasonable also.

  5. Best clinic in town!!! dont waste your time with any of the others. They care about the animals FIRST!!! Drs are very experienced. Well run and hygienic facility. I would never go anywhere else. Oh and one last thing they are the only ones that respond to emergencies cause they CARE. The others dont even answer their emergency numbers.

  6. My cousins dog was taken here to be treated and now they’re in a law suit for malpractice. Is this who you want treating your pets?

  7. This clinic is by far, hands down the best veterinary clinic in Bahrain. All staff are professional, prices are reasonable, and the treatment is always accurate and worked for every case I have brought in, I've been using them since they opened till my last appointment with them last night. Unlike other clinics, they overcharge, perform unnecessary tests and treatments just to charge. I would never recommend any other clinic.

  8. Will never use this practice. Poor management. The bottom dollar is their main priority. Bahrain has plenty more veterinarian practices that are recommended and have emergency hours. I would never place the welfare of my huskies in their hands. Please use instead: Advanced Veterinary clinic Animal Care Clinic House of Vet Nonie Coutts These are all preferable to Tails Vet

  11. I took my cat to Tails Clinic yesterday. I cannot stress how relaxed the staff made us feel, and how expertly and swiftly they treated my pet. My cat is typically very anxious, but Dua calmed him down like a pro. She was so gentle with him. Dr Zohaib was extremely pleasant and friendly, and he displayed a great deal of experience. Both Dua and Dr Zohaib were amazing communicators. The two of them treated my pet with the utmost gentleness and answered all my questions patiently. You could see very obviously how much they love pets and how much they enjoy their work. They were even able to guide me on the procedures necessary for relocating pets to other countries.

May, the receptionist, was also incredibly warm and truly made us feel welcome. I went in feeling really anxious for my boy, and left feeling on top of the world because of the way they treated us. The ambience in the waiting room was also very soothing, and it was absolutely spotless. I would give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could! Thank you so much for treating my boy like a prince!

  13. We went to tails to get our cat spayed and had the most horrible experience due to the carelessness of the doctor. My cat had to go through extreme pain and they stitched her twice both times wrong .and they even had the odacity to keep charging us for their mistakes! Since the wound did not heal for almost a month we took her to another doctor who explained us the wrong procedure that they did . My poor cat lost so much weight and suffered because we had to keep her isolated all the time . In the end we spent almost 200BD for a procedure that only costs 50bd . Would not recommend taking ur pets to them at all .. for their own well being .

  14. Humanitarian is a blessing and only doctor David had it. It’s so sad. Wouldn’t advise anyone to see Sohaib

  15. Amazing services and amazing staff
